Why England, why Englishness ?
I've decided to write this blog because England fascinates me. I have fallen in love with this country since the day I saw it from above the sky, while flying to London for the first time. I will never forget the green meadows where sheep graze, the castles and mansions filled with the spirit of history, the idyllic villages of Kent, the parks where herds of deer wander freely in human presence, the impressive architecture of London and many other things I love about England. Of course, one may have completely different fillings for England and associate Englishness with different values. Therefore on this blog I will only share my own observations concerning this country and nation, instead of general knowledge which you can probably find in various course books or encyclopaedia. I have been living in England for one year and during that time I managed to bite quite a bit of English culture. Before that time, my knowledge of British culture was based only on information published in English course books or internet. However, many sources offer limited and superficial materials which are based on stereotypes instead of facts. Because I want my blog to be an reliable and independent source of information, I will rely on my own experience and observations. Here are some of the images burned in my head:
somewhere in Kent
Chilham
Rye
London
Bodiam Castle
Richmond Park
